The whole offering of Landrace pigs are pure imported blood, and approximately SJ-7 months old. 23 PEDIGREE BERKSHIRES: 12 Sows (to farrow), 5 boars (of serviceable age), 6 unmated Sows (a top quality line of selected Berkshire*). 9 PEDIGREE TAMWORTHS: 5 Sows (unmated), 4 young Boars (represent some of the best blood lines in New Zealand). AUCTIONEER'S NOTE: The offering of Large Whites consist of the first progeny of the imported licensed premium boar, Corsbridge Royal Glen 85th, and from the three very fine Imported Sows which Mr G. Whitelock personally selected while in Britain in 7959. A number of in-farrow sows are mated to the second English boar, Corsbridge Royal Turk 112th. who arrived at "Grinton" just prior to the embargo on the export of livestock from the UK. These Large White importations represent Britain's best strains, and are strongly backed by progeny tested stock. The offering of Landrace sows and boars are progeny from the Landrace importations selected personally by Mr Whitelock, sen., and are recognised as some of the finest Landrace pigs to come into the country. Intending purchasers have the rare opportunity of buying Large Whites and Landrace pigs of pure imported blood that have been bred and acclimatised to New Zealand conditions.
