HALF-SHARE IN CRAFTEX
(N.Z Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE. May 11. Don Industries, Ltd., Sydney furniture maker, has acquired a 50 per cent, interest in Craftex, Ltd., New Zealand manufacturers of upholstered furniture. As a result of the link, Craftex will have a modern plant in Christchurch and will build a new factory in Auckland. These plants will produce the full range of Don furniture including the Nite-N-Day range. The deal was financed in cash and did not involve any issue of the Don Company's shares. Don Industries, Ltd., has its headquarters in Sydney and a new factory in Melbourne.
