N.Z. Lamb Price Easier
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 12. There was good trading at Smithfield market this week tor plentiful supplies, according to the market information service of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board. There was a good inquiry for New Zealand lamb at prices similar to those ruling before last week's wharf strike. Lamb prices were easier, but with only light supplies of New Zealand mutton prices were mainly steady. Hoggets sold at 15d to 16Jd a lb, while wethers sold unchanged at 12}d to 15jd a lb and ewes unchanged at lOd to 13}d. A small quantity of New Zealand chilled hinds sold on Monday at 23d to 24d a lb. New Zealand frozen beef was not quoted. Prices for New Zealand meat, ex hooks Smithfield, tn the week ended May 12, with the variation since the previous week, are quoted as follows:
