Probe After Blake Trial

A deep probe into the Australian Security Service is believed to have followed the disclosures at the trial of George Blake. The Prime Minister (Mr Menzies) hinted yesterday at a probe into the Australian service, when he told the House of Representatives that "as far as one can discover” the Blake betrayals had no effect on the Australian service.
Mr Menzies said there was no reason to doubt its continued efficiency Investigations are believed to be going on both in Australia and in London to try to establish whether any of Blake’s disclosures could have affected the Australian service.
