Speaker’s Identity Mistaken
Because our reporter mistook the identity of two speakers, statements made by Mr R. W. Ellis were attributed to Mr E. Farmer in yesterday’s report of the meeting of the council of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. Statements made by Mr Farmer were reported as being made by Mr Ellis. Mr Farmer was reported as saying the society could not expect sports dealers to issue licences for nothing. It was Mr Ellis who made that statement. Mr Ellis was named as the seconder of a motion on the payment of commissions to sports dealers on the sale of fishing and shooting licences. This should have been Mr Farmer.
