MAIREHAU HALL SITE

Use For Swimming Pool Accepted

The interim board of governors of the Mairehau High School has formally accepted an offer by the Waimairi County Council of the site now occupied by the Mairehau Hall. The council offered the site for the construction of a swimming pool, provided the pool was made available after school hours to the people of the district. The Mairehau Hall will be demolished soon. The offer was a particularly attractive one, and the site was eminently suitable, said the headmaster (Mr A. B. Ryan). The board will write to the council expressing its appreciation of the offer.
