AUCKLAND POLIO

(N.Z. Press
AUCKLAND, May 10. Six suspected cases of poliomyelitis were admitted to the Auckland Hospital yesterday. Clinical tests to determine whether they are positive cases take several days to complete. Fifty-one suspected cases had been admitted to the Auckland Hospital since the beginning of January, said Dr. D. R. Goodfellow, the medical superintendent. Of these, 18 patients had been discharged and one had died. There were now 32 cases in hospital, but three of these were not poliomyelitis cases. The 28 cases remaining included positive cases and suspects.
