Indoor Basketball Tourney Dates

(N.Z. Press Association) ~ WELLINGTON. May 10. The council of the New Zealand Men’s Basketball Association has approved the following dates for this season’s major tournaments:— New Zealand, at Auckland. August 28 to September 1. North Island, at Wanganui, July 7 and 8. South Island, at Christchurch. July 14 and 15. North Island B grade, at Hamilton. June 23. 24 and 25. Wellington provincial, at Feilding, June 16 and 17. Tour Contributions Each association affiliated to the New Zealand association mav be required to contribute £5O towards the expenses of any of its players included in the New Zealand team to tour Australia and South-east Asia next year. A proposal to this effect has been made by the secretary, Mr R. Leslie (Dunedin), and will be considered at the association’s annual meeting.
