THE Authority invites firms who consider themselves qualified by past experience In the design, manufacture and erection of gates for barrages to apply for prequalification to tender for the gates for the above mentioned works. The works form part of the settlement plan being financed bv the Indus Basin Development fund, which is adminis-te-ed by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The gates are likely to be as follows : MAILSI SIPHON— Operated Gates 24 Tnintor Gates. 60ft wide, 7ft high. 8 Vertical Lift Gates. 13ft square. SIDHNAI BARRAGE— Electrically Operated: C 5 Vertical Lift Gates. 40ft wide. 12ft high. 14 Vertical Lift Gates, 24ft wide, 10ft high. Hand Operated: 16 Vertical Lift G-atea, 32*ft wide. 14ft high. The Authority plane to invite tenders for these gates about November. 1961, as two separate tenders.
