£1330 Theft Charge

DANNEVIRKE. May 10. At a preliminary hearing in the Magistrate’s Court. Dannevirke, today before Messrs W. Lunt and W. H. Oliver, Justices of the Peace, James Alfred Clarke, aged 29, clerk, of Palmerston North, pleaded not guilty to a charge of stealing £1330 while in the employ of Hargreaves Services, Ltd., of Dannevirke. Accused elected trial by jury, and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court, Napier, on May 18.

Bail was refused after an application was heard in chambers.
