The Laotian Defence Minister, General Phourni Nosavan. has lodged a formal complaint with the International Control Commission concerning alleged repeated violations of a tacit ceasefire agreement in the region of the village of Ban Pha Dong, on the southern fringes of the rebel-held Plains or Jar. reliable sources reported today. Military sources said the village was under daily mortar and artillery attack by Pathet Lao insurgents. The commission India, Canada, and Poland—yesterday made its first attempt to make contact with the Pathet Lao at the front-line village of Hin Heup, astride the Namlik river.
