Man In Space
Sir, —The central committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, when honouring the world's first cosmonaut, addressed this ipessage to the peoples and governments of all countries and to the whole of progressive mankind: “We regard the victories in space ex. ploration as' being not only the achievements of our people, but of the whole ot mankind as well. We ! place our accomplishments at the service of the peactf and security of the peoples, not at the service of war. Let all people, irrespective of race or nationality, colour, religious creed, or social status, spare no efforts to ensure a lasting world peace. Let us put an end to the arms drive. Let us carry out general and complete disarmament under strict international control. This will be a decisive contribution to the sacred cause of peace.” Why won’t the Western Powers agree to this?—Yours, etc., PROGRESS. May 8. 1961.
