Opening Korero Of

Season

One hundred and fifty members of the Christchurch Savage Club attended the opening korero of the season In the club’s new headquarters, the Scottish Society Hall.

The official guests were Mr A. Gray and nine members of the Ashburton Savage Club, led by Great Chief E. Ingram. Great Chief R. M. Naysmith presided. He was installed by Past Chief W. A. Luney. Items were given by Savages C. Williams, K. Sharp. G. Johnson (vocal solos), P. Sorenson (pianoforte), E. Truscott (clarinet) and C. Thomas and M. Brown (duopianists). Sketches were given by Savages L Findlay, H. Keane and G. Wilson. The accompanists were Savages G. L. Russel and P. Sorenson and the musical director was Savage M. Brown.
