CHAPEL TENDERS LET

Burwood Hospital Building Tenders for the chapel at Burwood Hospital have been approved, and construction should start soon. The total Cost will be £9170. This was announced yesterday by the acting secretary pf the North Canterbury Hospital Board (Mr H Horae). Paynter and Hamilton. Ltd, will be responsible for the building generally, and A. and T. Burt/Ltd., tor the heating and pkimbing. The Burwood Hospital chapel was one of three at Christchurch hospitals for which a public appeal was made. The first of the chapels, at the Sunnyside Hospital, is already completed. The third will be at the Princess Margaret Hospital, but the site for the chapel there has, not been fixed. The sum for which the tenders were let is less than the amount originally allocated by the appeal fund trustees - for the Burwood chapel, and the remainder will be added to the Princess Margaret chapel allocation.
