Meeting Held In Camera

The promotion of tennis in Canterbury was discussed by a combined meeting of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association’s management committee and the Wilding Park committee, held an Monday' evening. Reporters were not admitted to the meeting, but a brief statement was released after it by the chairman (Mr G. E. Atkinson) after consultation with the president of the association (Mr A. M. Hatch). Mr Atkinson said the maintenance and improvement of facilities at Wilding Park, as well as the promotion of tennis, had been discussed by the meeting. Financial aspects connected with the two matters had been brought up. he said. All matters discussed by the meeting would be presented for consideration at the next delegates* meeting of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, to be held in June. Mr Atkinson said. No decisions had been made last evening.
