BP SCHOLAR
Wellington Man Wins Award The BP scholarship, which is awarded annually to a graduate from a New Zealand university, has been awarded for 1961 to Mr P. T. Coleridge, of Victoria University of Wellington. Mr Coleridge, who is' 20, has been studying for the last three years at Victoria University, and obtained his
bachelor of science degree in 1960. He was awarded the Bruce Dall Prize in 1958, the Noel Ryder Prize in 1959, and the Alexander Crawford Scholarships. The scholarship, which has a tenure of one to three years, is valued at £4OO a year, and is normally awarded to the candidate with the most outstanding record and ability in the sciences. The selection of the candidate is at the discretion of the New Zealand University. One of the main purposes of the BP Scholarship is to encourage New Zealand graduates to do post-graduate studies at a New Zealand university to doctorate level.
