Basketball N.Z. Association Formed In 1924

(N.Z Press Association) HAMILTON, May 9. •‘New Zealand has a very definite place ill international basketball.” said Mrs R. Lane, in her opening address at the New Zealand basketball conference at Hamilton today. ‘‘Do you realise." said Mrs Lane, “that New Zealand was the oldest association present at the international conference at Ceylon? Our association was formed in 1924. England 1926. Australia 1928, and the three others present. South Africa. Wesj Indies and Ceylon, have only been formed over the last 10 to 15 years.” This afternoon the conference was officially opened by the Mayor of Hamilton (Dr. Denis Rogers).
