Two Men Jump Overboard

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 8. Two crew members of the ship Cape Grafton, outward bcund for Australia, jumped overboard while the ship was moving upstream at Auckland on Saturday afternoon and swam ashore. They were charged in the Magistrate's Court, Auckland, today, before Mr L. G H. Sinclair. S.M, with being absent without leave from their ship. They pleaded guilty. They were convicted and ordered to be detained in gaol pending deportation. They are Peter Keenan, aged 21, and Victor Delves, aged 26, deckhands, of England. They told the Court that they thought they would get home a lot more quickly if they were deported.
