AUCKLAND POLIO
Four More Cases (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 8. Four more possible cases o f poliomyelitis were admitted to the Auckland Hospital today, said the Medical Superintendent (Dr. D. R. Goodfellow) tonight They included two members of the nursing staff. Cases in the hospital now number 34. Eleven patients have been discharged since the outbreak began. Dr, Goodfellow said the outbreak was placing a strain on the medical staff because of the shortage of house doctors. Tne physiotherapists were also under pressure because of the need to provide a 24hour service for the hot packing of muscles.
