PLAYER SENT OFF
Incident In' Wellington (SX Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 7, The Wellington soccer representative, A. G. Schryvers. was ordered from the field in the closing stages of a match art the Basin Reserve yesterday. Schryvers,- centre forward for Zealandia, was sent off for questioning a decision of the referee, Mr J. Armstrong, who had just awarded Seatoun a goal, giving it a 3-3 draw with Zealandia. Four or five other Zealandia players began to walk off with Schryvers, but were told to go baric by an official oi the club. This is the second time Zealandia players have been involved in an incident at the Basin Reserve. Last year, they staged a demonstration and held up play for about five minutes during a championship match. Start of Incident Saturday's incident started when Zealandda’s J. Lamboo kicked hard at a ball in his own half, but the kick struck a team-mate, J. Sonnevelt, in the stomach. Both fell to the ground. The Seatoun captain and centre forward, R. E. Reid, went between them, took the ball downfield, and was instrumental in scoring. While the players were returning for the kick-off a linesman put up his flag for off-side.
The referee, however, overruled the linesman. Schryvers appeared to question his decision, and had his name taken. During the kickoff, Schryvers again spoke to the referee. He was then told to leave the field.
