Annual Conference At Lincoln
Canterbury Agricultural College. Lincoln, provided “the most completely satisfactory accommodation” for an annual conference that the Inter-Varsity Fellowship of Evangelical Unions had experienced in all its 26 years, the general secretary of the fellowship (the Rev. Warner A. Hutchinson) said yesterday. The conference began yesterday and will go on until Friday. The annual meeting of the fellowship will be held on Saturday morning.
About 260 are attending the conference, mostly students from the universities and teachers’ colleges but including also a group of trainee dental nurses.
The main speakers will be the Rev. Dr. M. Toyotome', who will give five lectures on “The Man God Uses in This Decade”; the Rev. F. Foulkes, with five lectures entitled "Foundations For Faith,” studies in the epistle to the Romans; and Mr C. Troutman, whose subject in four lectures will be “God Speaks Today.” The presidential address will be given tonight by the Rev. M. Betteridge. formerly vicar of Lincoln and now of St. Matthew’s. Duned:n. On Wednesday, Dr. Toyotome and Mr Foulkes will hold an open discussion on the missionary situation.
