IN2 Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 5. The Federation of Labour today decided to proceed for a general wage order “when the necessary evidence is available." The F.O.L. president (Mr F P. Walsh) said tonight this was carried with little discussion He had offered Mr A. J. Neary (North Island Electrical Workers' Union) the chance to amend the recommendation to read "proceed immediately,' but Mr Neary declined. “The conference also reaffirmed its support for equal pay.” Mr Walsh said "We support all organisations that get it. We wan’ to emancipate women. We have no prejudices and think females are entitled to equal pay for equal work.”
