Applicants must possess a Ph D. degree in Physics from a recognised University' or academic and research qualifications equivalent thereto. Applicants with previous University teaching experience will receive preference, especially for the position at Townsville. (31st May.) LECTURER TN CLASSICS: The vacant position is a full lectureship, not a Junior Lectureship. Applicants Should have a good Honours Degree in Classics, and should either have completed a course of post-graduate study in Classics, or have had several years’ experience pf teaching Classics (whether in a School or at. a University). (29th May.) LECTURER IN EDUCATION: The primary qualification sought is competence to undertake a course in methods of teaching Geography to prospective secondary school teachers. For this, good academic qualifications in Geography and relevant experience are hece-s--cary. Qualifications in addition to these that would enable the Lecturer to undertake other courses in the Department wild be an advantage. for example a higher degree in Education or Psychology, or another teaching method (31st May.) LECTURER TN ENGLISH LANGUAGE: Applicants should possess a good Honours Decree in English and should either hold a higher degree or be actively engaged in research work leading to a higher degree. Experience as a University teacher will be treated as an important qualification Lecturing duties will include teaching of the Phonetic? and Grammar of modem English to Pass Decree students, and the organisation of courses in the historv of English language for both Pass and Honours Degree students. The appointee will also be expected to take a share in the Departmental survey of the spoken English of Queensland. (31et Mav) JUNIOR LECTURER TN HISTORY: Applicants should have an Honours degree in Historv or outstanding results in the Pass Degree in History. An interest in research would be de«”rable (13th Mav.)
