FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A very deep and extensive depression covering the Tasman Sea is moving south-eastwards towards New Zealand. Forecast:— Marlborough.—Light winds, southerlies or easterlies predominating; cloud increasing and some rain is likely late in the day: temperatures moderate. Outlook: unsettled with rain or showers. Nelson and the West Coast.—Moderate northeasterly winds, fresh in some exposed places in Nelson and Buller; cloudy with some rain developing during the day; temperatures moderate. Outlook: unsettled, with rain or showers. Canterbury.—Light to moderate winds, southerlies to easterlies predominating; some patches of drizzle near the coast at first, but otherwise cloudy and cool.
