Engine Derailed By Cow
(N.Z Press Association) WAIPUKURAU. May 5. Rail traffic between Napier and Palmerston North was delayed for five hours today when a goods train locomotive was derailed when it hit a cow at latumai. a few miles south of Waipukurau at 3.15 a.m. Relays of buses carried more than 200 passengers between Waipukurau and Dannevirke before the line was cleared.
