The influence of the French in the Pacific was discussed by the Rev. A. Mac Kay, who recently returned from Samoa, at a meeting of the Alliance Francaise. He spoke of the voyages of La Perouse, the work of ’he French missionary fathers, and the work being done by France at the present time in the fields of religion. administration and medicine. A short programme of music for the violin was presented by Mr H. McCutcheon. accompanied by Kirs M. Carter.
