CLAIM FOR £20,000
Fatal Collision At Te Anau
<N.Z. Press Association) I INVERCARGILL, May 4. A fatal accident on the i main highway near Te Anau lon August 26 last is the subject of a civil claim which I began in the Supreme Court jat Invercargill today, j Rhona Ashford Lemon, a :41-year-old widow, and mother of three young children, is claiming £20.000 from the Attorney-General as the result of the death of her husband. Samuel George | Lemon. The Crown admits liability for the accident and the jury is required to assess the [amount of damages. The hearing is before Mr Justice Haslam. Mr I. A. Arthur is appearing for Mrs Lemon and Dr. I. L. M. Richardson for the Crown. Mr Arthur said deceased's car collided with a tractor driven by a youth employed by the Lands and Survey Department at Lynwood. It was admitted that the tractor driver was solely responsible for the accident and the Crown had accepted full responsibility. The case will be continued tomorrow.
