CYCLIST HIT BY TRUCK

Vehicle Fails To Stop

A cyclist suffered head injuries and abrasions last evening when she was struck by a truck in Yaldhurst road about 10.50 p.m. The vehicle d d not stop. The cyclist is Miss Joan Heather McKay, aged 30, of 38 Ravenna street, Avonhead. She was taken to the Christchurch Hospital by a St. John ambulance. She was treated at the hospital and sent home. The truck is believed to be a 30cwt or 15cwt vehicle, painted green or blue, with a flat deck and no sides. The police are anxious to get in touch with any person who may be able to assist them in their inquiries.
