Man Bitten By Snake In Bar
<N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SYDNEY. May 4. A man was bitten by a snake in the crowded bar of a city hotel on Tuesday. The man. William Booth, aged 47. a fruit merchant, of Parramatta, was rushed to Sydney Hospital and admitted. A man entered the saloon bar of a Hay street hotel carrying a boot box. He got into conversation with Booth and told him he had a snake in the box. He opened the lid. The snake made a sudden strike and caught Booth on a finger of the right hand. The snake’s owner left the bar soon after Booth had been bitten All Sydney police cars and uniformed police have been alerted to find the man. Doctors have been unable to give effective treatment to Booth because they do not know what sort of snake bit him. Nothing’s ever said about the lives the average driver saves during a little spin around town—Kin Hubbard.
