TEMPLETON SCHOOL
New Classrooms Occupied
Pupils of the Templeton School moved into a new block of classrooms on Tuesday. The old school building, which was built nearlv ICO years ago, will be taken away soon. The. new block of four rooms is of brick veneer and has modern equipment. Nearly all the furniture is new. The school, whose pupils range from Primer I M Form 11, has a roll of 170. There has been a fair amount of building in the area in recent years, and the school roll number has considerably in the last four; or five years. The he«dm-”-| ter (Mr G. Shrubs and trees have been planted throughout the years, so the school is in established grounds. but. some tidying up will be needed after the erection of the new buildiing- and the removal of old ones. Raising Funds Many months of extra ' work by pupils ended on ! Tuesday when four tons of. old newspapers went to a! factory to be used for pack- 1 ing. The pupils collected the newspapers, laid them flat and put them in bundles. This occupied some months, most of the newsuapers coming from pupils’ homes. This project to raise funds for school equipment had the full support of the school committee and the parents.
