WESTLAND CLUB

Progress With Improvements

(From Our Own Reporter) HOKITIKA, May 3. The Westland Racing Club is making good progress with the big improvements at the racecourse. New buildings are planned, the track has been topdressed and Is in excellent condition. An important decision made by the committee was that the club would join with other West Coast clubs in the purchase of four four-gate units of the mobile Wood starting gates at a cost of £2600. The final decision will be made at a meeting of the Greymouth District Committee. All clubs are likely to agree on this and the Wood gates should be in use for all meetings in the new season.
