Below Average Rainfall

Last month was the sunniest April since 1937 and tbe rainfall was about a third of the average for the mcnth. The mean temperature was only slightly above the average twice in the month but the previous record temperature for April was exceeded The highest temperature recorded was 85 5 degrees on April 16. One or two light frosts occurred but did little or no damage to plants. Winds, except for May 1, were well below average strength. The rainfall for the month was 84 points and the number of rainy days was eight. The hours of sunshine recorded were 180. All measurements were taken at the Weather Office at Harewood.
