INVESTMENT IN N.Z.

British Sources Interested

■ (N.Z, Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 3. There is a growing interest in the United Kingdom for investment in New Zealand, the London Inanager of the Bank of New Zealand, Mr A. R. Frethey, said in Auckland today. The interest was both for providing capital for New Zealand ventures or branches of United Kingdom companies and for shares In New Zealand companies. “We are getting more frequent inquiries from London sharebrokers about New Zealand shares,” Mr Frethey said. He admitted that anxiety of English investors about repatriation of profits could often be a hurdle, and he agreed that a publicly-given assurance by the New Zealand Government in this respect could be helpful in creating a favourable atmosphere.
