Govt. Moves Criticised (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 2. Commenting on the proposed elosing of West Coast coal mines, the president of the Federation of Labour . (Mr F. P. Walsh) said in his address to the federation conference today that the miners would be put out of work and dispossessed of their property, No-one would wa n t to buy their houses where no work was available. The Government's attitude to the miners was a different one to that of developing marginal farming. This was being continued although the dairy farmers were receiving from the State £B5 a toT® excess of market realisation for their butter.
