TEEN-AGERS BANNED

Hooliganism In Theatre (Special Crspdt N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, May 1 The Astonia Theatre, the only one at Stevenage, Hertfordshire, is once more open to teenagers after a monthlong ban because of hooliganism. In the future, however, customers under 21 will have to show a good conduct pass A dozen or so troublemakers are still barred from the cinema and a former commando "bouncer” has been engaged to keep an eye on things. Passes signed by the manager have been issued to teenagers who cannot get in without one. The theatre owner (Mr M. Ayres) banned the town’s 5000 teenagers from the theatre last month because damage by hooligans was costing him £25 a week. "The ban has cost me about £lOO a week in lower takings but it will be worth it if I have no more hooliganism," said Mr Ayres. *
