GIFTS MADE TO ST. GEORGE’S

Hospital Friends’ Report A gas range, half the cost of an obstetric table, and Swedish trays were among the gifts made to St. George’s Hospital during the last year by the Friends of St. George's, said the president, Mrs Janet Williams, at the annual meeting. Gifts worth £371 were made to the hospital. A major problem for next year is the redecorating and

furnishing of the junior nurses’ sitting-room at the nurses’ home.

About 250 people attended the meeting, which was addressed by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren), the chairman of the St. George’s Hospital executive (Dr. L. C. L. Averill), and the Lady Superintendent (Miss M. McKenzie).

Vocal items were given by Mrs James Collins.

The following officers were elected: President, Mrs Janet Williams; secretary, Mrs Frank Hiatt; treasurer, Miss A. M. Black.
