Smoking Ban Disputed

(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, May 2. No settlement had been reached between the management and workers at New Zealand Foods. Ltd.’s Hastings factory, where workers have disputed , a ban on smoking outside the factory’s buildings. The secretary of the Hawke’s Bay branch of the Food Processing and Canning Workers’ Union (Mr V Kale) said today that the process workers had decided to continue smoking in the usual places, and that if anyone was dismissed through this, the workers would "walk out.”
