Recurrence Of Lameness The good galloper Ilumquh has gone amiss and has been sent for a long spell to his owner’s property near Masterton Ilumquh was scratched from the Ormond Gold Cup at the Hawke’s Bay meeting ■ast Saturday after showing signs of lameness in training Ilumquh fell in the seven furlong sprint on the first day of the Manawatu meeting last month. Although he recovered sufficiently to win the Awapuni Gold Cup a week later his connexions decided not to take chances with him when the lameness recurred Ilumquh will now be spelled for six weeks and will then be examined to see how he is responding to treatment Present plans are to take him to Australia for another spring campaign and his trainer, E. Ropiha. hopes to have him at his best for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups, llumauh won the Caulfield Cup last year and was an unlucky third in the Melbourne Cup.
