Thousands of medical workers in Communist Chins have been sent out to toe countryside to fight diseases caused by a nation-wide famine and “irresponsible” party officials, the Associated Press reported from Hong Kong. The move was a sequel to unusually strong criticism of officials by China’s newspapers. Refugees in Hong Kong from the mainland said malnutrition was the main cause for rampant disease. "Bloated faces and limbs ate a common sight in every village.” said one peraon who left China recently, according to A.P The Communist newspapers blame the spread of disease on unsanitary conditions in communal mess halls, and hold part officials responsible.
