Released From Boot Of Car (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 2. When he appeared in the Magistrate’s Court, Lower Hutt, before Mr 3. F. Keane, S.M., this afternoon. Randal Garth Laurent, aged 30, a workman, at present unemployed, pleaded guilty to a charge of car conversion Senior Detective D Dwan said Laurent had been hitchhiking from Napier when he had seen the vehicle parked In Waipukurau with the key* in the ignition. He had converted the car and driven it to Petone. Mr Dwan said that in the boot of the car was a dog valued at £5O. The accused had released ft in Petone and It had not yet been located. Laurent was remanded till next Tuesday for a probation officer’s report.
