Elections In Brisbane
IN.Z.P.A -neuter—Copyright) BRISBANE. May 1. Brisbane, on Saturday, elected its second Australian Labour Party Lord Mayor and City Council in the last 21 years. The Labour Party team is leading in 17 of the city's 28 wards.
The Federal Opposition Leader (Mr Calwell) who is in Brisbane for the poll, said the Labour victory marked the end of Labour's "long night.”
