FORESTRY SCHOOL
Establishment Hoped For (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 30. The Mayor of Wellington (Mr F. J. Kitts) told the annual conference of the New Zealand Institute of Fores*ers yesterday that he hoped the day was not far distant when a forestry school would be established in New Zealand. Forestry was of great importance to a country. Like people, countries had to be clothed, he said. As Mayor of Wellington he was by statute chairman of the Wellington City and Suburban Water Supply Board, said Mr Kitts. Every time he visited the board's land be remembered that the means of catching and holding the water was the forest area of the high country. During the formal session Mr A. R. Entrican, the former Director of Forestry, was elected an honorary member of the institute. Also elected an honorary member was Dr. S. S. Spurr, • United States Fulbright scholar who visited New Zealand last year.
