Indoor Bowls RAILWAY OPEN TOURNEY
M. Berkeley’s Rink Wins A rink skipped by M. Berkeley beat G. Lancaster'! lour, 13-11, in the final of the railway indoor bowls open tournament held during the weekend. Its victory brought it the Ashby, Bergh Cup. Members of the winning rink were M. Berkeley (skip), G. Reveley. Miss M. Smith, C. Pratt. Fifty teams competed and 16 qualified for post section play Skips of these rinks were M. Berkeley. K. White, R. Foote, S. Fridd. J. Murphy, G. King. J. Coombes, J. Rennie, J. Boone, A. Williamson, V. Marshall, G. Forrester G. Lancaster, Mrs B Penney, Mrs M. Hall and Mrs J Fairtie. Results of post-section play were:— First Round —M. Berkeley 8. K. White 3: R. Foote 9. Mrs Penney 6; J. Murphy 8.
