Council Clerk Charged
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, April 30. A 31-year-old clerk of the Palmerston Borough Council, Bernard John O’Grady, was charged in the Dunedin Magistrate’s Court yesterday with theft of £167 8s Bd, the property of the council. O'Grady was remanded in custody to Monday. Bail was refused.
Further charges against O’Grady involving a considerable sum of money were pending, said the police prosecutor
