SKYSCRAPER IN AUCKLAND
Project Expected To Be Postponed “The Press’’ Special Service AUCKLAND, April 30 The Mayor of Auckland, Mr D. M. Robinson, is expected to recommend that plans for the proposed 240foot city administration building should be postponed for up to 12 months. He has said that so far all efforts to borrow the £l.B million required for tile building have failed.
His last appeal to public organisations to band together to provide the finance has not produced results.
The extended period for the acceptance ot the tender for the construction of tt)e
building will expire on May' 7.
A special meeting of the council on May 5, at which Mr Robinson is expected to make his recommendation, will decide the fate of the project.
