Laking Takes Up Post
(N.Z P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, April 30. New Zealand’s new Ambassador in Washington, Mr G. R. Laking, was today settling in amidst a host of friends after arriving on Friday from London.
Mr and Mrs Laking were greeted by many of the friends they made here between 1949 and 1956. when Mr Inking was Counsellor and Minister at the Embassy. The new Ambassador is likely to be busy from the start of his stay. He told reporters on arrival that everyone in New Zealand was very worried about the situation in Laos.
