A WOOL SCHOOL
The South Island Wool Association will hold a two-day conference at Canterbury Agricultural College on Maili and 12. The meeting .8 really a wool school for mainly members of the staffs of w-00l stores. About iM) to 100 are expected to attend. Speakers on the first morning will be Mr A. R. Edmunds. lecturer in physics at the college, who will give a paper on core sampling for moisture and yield, and Dr. A. E. Henderson, head of the wool department at the college, who will speak about feeding and w-00l growtfi. Mr G. McNeill, manager of the Kaputone Scouring Company, will give a demonstration of home spanning in the ax-ernoon and it will also be the occasion of the count and yield competition and repeatability test. On the final day Mr J. C. Simpson, instructor in wool at the college, is to' speak about variations in yield, Mr C. H. Bethel!, a member of the Wool Board, will discuss the relationship of the Wool Board. Wool Commission and International Wool Secretariat. Dr. D. A. Ross, wool research officer of the NewZealand Wool Industries’ Research Institute, will talk about the significance of soundness of wool, and Mr J. Ferrier will discuss trade requirements. Chairman of the meeting win be Mr V. M. Collins, wool manager of Dalgety and Company. Ltd., in Christchurch.
