The Department offers pass and honours courses in economics to students in the Divisions of Arte and Commerce. Approximately 210 undergraduates are taking these courses in 1961, and there are a number of candidates for higher degrees. Applicants should have a good honours degree, and/or postgraduate experience. The University may give preference to those with special interests in mathematical and theoretical economics, economic statistics, applied economics, or international economics.
