FRIDAY (Before Messrs S. F. Marshall and W. E. Olds, Justices of the Peace.) FINED £5 William Thompson, aged 29, a workman, was fined £5 on a charge of being unlawfully on the enclosed premises of a private hotel in Manchester street. He pleaded guilty. Sergeant V. F. Townshend said that the police at 2.40 a.m. yesterday found Thompson asleep in a drunken state in one of the rooms. He could not say what he was doing there. REMANDED Charged with the theft of an overnight bag. Wayne Gilbert Sutton was remanded on bail to May 4. TRAFFIC CHARGES On traffic charges brought by the police, offenders were dealt with as follows: No warrant of fitness: Neville Arthur Britliff, £1; Bernard Francis Calcott, £2; Vincent Kingsley Gervin John McGillivray, £1; Raymond Francis Richards, £2; Paul Tucker, £1; Thomas Frank Waller, £l.
