INQUEST AT REEFTON

Child Choked By Plastic Bag (From Our Own Reporter) REEFTON. April 27. An inquest into the death of Allan Morgan, aged five, the son of Mr and Mrs M. Morgan. Plaskett street. Reefton. was held yesterday at Reefton before the Coroner (Mr R. A. Kay). Evidence was given by the child’s father and mother. Dr. I. S. Mackenzie. Constable J. Moore and the pathologist. Dr. L. J. Dunscombe. The Coroner found that Allan Morgan died at Inangehua Hospital. Reefton. on April l, r 1961. the cause of death being traumatie asphyxia resulting from the deceased having accidentally swallowed a small plastic bag with which he was playing. The Coroner commented on the danger of children playing with plastic bags under such circumstances.
